BIM Software Tip: Revit Chamfering with Chamfered Wires
When working on electrical floor plans, it’s often necessary to draw wires. In Revit, you can draw wires using three methods: arc, spline, and chamfered. However, none of these methods produce perfectly sharp corners.
Among these, wire styles with chamfers are somewhat usable, but their corners are not true right angles. Fortunately, you can add a vertex at the corner to create a right angle. To do this, right-click on the wire and select the “Insert Vertex” command.
After inserting a vertex, add another vertex close to the corner vertex to adjust it into a right angle.
When drawing wires with chamfers, simply double-click near the corner to create a right-angled turn.
