BIM Software Tip: How to Insert CAD Drawings into Excel
While AutoCAD offers powerful graphic capabilities, its table processing features are somewhat limited. In practical applications, users often need to create various tables within AutoCAD, such as engineering quantity tables. Finding an efficient way to create and manage these tables is essential.
Here’s a step-by-step guide:
1. First, open your Excel spreadsheet. Select the section you want to transfer to AutoCAD, then copy it.
2. Open the relevant AutoCAD drawing. On the menu bar, click Edit, then select Paste Special.
3. In the dialog box that appears, your copied content will be shown. Choose Paste, then select AutoCAD Graphics and click OK.
4. Next, you will be prompted to select a base point. Simply left-click to place the inserted Excel chart within the drawing.
5. Finally, enter the shortcut key x followed by the spacebar to explode the inserted table. Then, type re and press enter to refresh. Now, you can freely edit the Excel table embedded in your AutoCAD drawing.
