This project is dedicated to creating a school focused on environmental education. The building itself serves as a showcase for the possibilities of eco-friendly architecture.

Situated on the edge of Merimeca Park forest, the building occupies a transitional zone between urban space and the natural environment. Here, architecture, landscape, and forest seamlessly blend into a unified whole. The design team chose wood as the primary facade material, which naturally changes color and texture over time, creating a subtle dialogue between the building and nature.

Designed to accommodate 1,080 students and 120 teachers, the building creates its own unique environment, resembling a small universe that offers an inspiring spatial experience. The central square features three wooden steps that mirror the natural slope of a mountain, connecting all floors into a cohesive whole. The design skillfully utilizes the mountain’s irregular shape, transforming it into versatile spaces for learning, social interaction, and large-scale events. Additionally, the inclusion of three tropical trees indoors blurs the traditional boundaries between indoor and outdoor environments.

Wood plays a variety of roles beyond structural support. It is used to create smooth and warm benches, perforated acoustic panels, and streamlined handrails. The wooden grille facade also functions as an effective sunshade. Surrounding the building, the landscape design includes benches and intimate corners, providing diverse outdoor spaces. Notably, the outdoor exhibition area along the main road is redesigned annually by the students themselves.
