Project Overview: Wenzhou High Tech Cultural Plaza is situated in the heart of Longwan district, covering nearly 80,000 square meters. This expansive cultural and commercial complex features 1,216 large theaters, 311 small theaters, commercial zones, and neighborhood centers, serving as a prominent landmark representing the city’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.

The “Urban Art Park” sits at the foot of Huangshi Mountain alongside the Shuangqiao River, surrounded by established residential neighborhoods. The design aims to create an open, inclusive, and interactive urban art park centered on the area’s green space. This space invites visitors to explore, relax, learn, and shop, providing a cultural haven for the community.
Four white plazas, each housing one of the primary functions—a large theater, a small theater, an activity center, and a neighborhood center—are designed to float above the green public base. The design emphasizes small-scale, light interventions to establish an open, shared urban space with a “cultural settlement” feel, encouraging multidimensional connections and public participation.

The fusion of culture and commerce, combined with a three-dimensional garden city leisure lifestyle, is subtly transforming daily life. The design integrates commercial retail spaces throughout a shared base, promoting seamless interaction between various indoor and outdoor cultural venues and artistic commercial areas.
This is achieved through architectural features such as overhangs, setbacks, aerial corridors, and sunken plazas. By greening the rooftops of the “stacked platform corridors” along the river, the landscape of Green Valley Park extends onto the building rooftops. Whether strolling through the layered gardens or enjoying the views, visitors experience a poetic balance between movement and stillness.

The landscape Qin platform and the poetic Jiangnan street-facing facade feature a double-layer skin design, with a perforated aluminum panel curtain wall installed over a glass curtain wall. Inspired by the natural imagery of Yandang Mountain’s cloud shadows, parametric design techniques recreate this in pixelated form, forming a continuous “landscape scroll” that defines the public urban interface.
Vertical aluminum panels evoke piano keys and strings along the riverbank facade, creating a gradient effect from solid to translucent. The building’s upper section resembles a majestic mountain, complemented by sweeping roof curves that echo the mountain’s winding paths, symbolizing traditional eave designs described as “bird-like leather, and bird-like flying.”

The Light Luxury Art Grand Theater, positioned facing the water, features an open and transparent design. Its front hall is supported by V-shaped steel columns and steel rib tension rods, complemented by a point-supported glass curtain wall. Inside, the space is finished with a simple, elegant color palette and comfortable scale, outfitted with various commercial and entertainment venues to cultivate a refined artistic atmosphere.
