Located in Sharq, Kuwait, this project introduces a multifunctional canopy concept. Positioned as an urban installation in the commercial city center, it stands as a new artistic landmark and a popular gathering spot. The design accommodates various uses throughout the day, featuring a rooftop restaurant and an outdoor plaza beneath the canopy.
The canopy features a leisure area designed for visitors to enjoy scenic views while dining or relaxing. Additionally, a grandstand serves as both a resting spot and an amusement area, complemented by an interactive slide inspired by the sloping roof. With suitable infrastructure, this space can also function as an open-air theater or cinema for special events.
The structure supporting the canopy houses the indoor dining and logistical areas. Its exterior is clad with matte paint and metal mesh, while the interior contrasts sharply with shiny white tiles against red flooring and ceiling. Strategic openings ensure breathability, ventilation, clear pathways, and natural light, creating an ideal environment for comfort and livability.
The restaurant’s main vertical feature is a striking red spiral staircase, linking the interior dining space with the canopy above. This connection completes the flow between indoor and outdoor areas, achieving a harmonious spatial experience.
The construction utilizes basic, natural materials, reflecting the restaurant’s philosophy of crafting desserts from natural products. The assembly techniques highlight a modern, efficient service approach designed to deliver high-quality meals quickly, ensuring customer satisfaction.
