Method 1: Using Red and White Textures
The first step is to replace the source image file with the red and white texture shown in the image above.
Next, adjust the image position so that the red and white stripes appear correctly on the left and right sides.
Then, scale the texture to control the length of each red and white stripe.
After that, set both horizontal and vertical repetitions to “tiling” to ensure the pattern repeats seamlessly.
Finally, assign the material to the object to complete the process.
This method is widely used and considered reliable. If you cannot find the red and white texture, you can try the second method.
Method 2: Using Gradient Colors
Start by switching to the gradient option under the general tab; you do not need to change the colors at this point.
Next, click “Edit” to open the gradient editor. Change the gradient type to “diagonal,” with red at both the start and end points, and white positioned in the middle at 0.41. Make sure to interpolate all solid colors smoothly.
Then, adjust the rotation angle: set it to 45 degrees for horizontal bars and 135 degrees for vertical bars.
Finally, assign this gradient material to the object to complete the setup.
Method 3: Using Downloaded Textures and Revit
First, search for red and white textures online (e.g., on Baidu) and download a suitable image.
Next, draw a 3-meter railing in Revit. Select the railing, click the “Edit Type” button, and open the “Type Properties” dialog box. Then, click the “Edit” button next to the railing structure.
In the “Edit Armrest (Non Continuous)” dialog box, remove armrest 1 and armrest 2. Adjust the heights of armrest 3 and armrest 4 to 300mm and 600mm respectively, without modifying the contour.
Now, assign materials to armrest 3 and armrest 4 by clicking the Material button, which opens the Material Browser. Search for “Concrete Lightweight” in the Autodesk Material Library and add it to your project materials. Copy and rename this material to “Railing”. Switch to the Appearance tab, click the texture image, and open the Texture Editor. Browse to the location of the downloaded red and white texture and apply it.
Adjust the texture scale as needed, then click “Finish” and subsequently press “OK” three times to exit all dialog boxes. Review the model to verify the changes.
Finally, add the top rail material: use the Tab key to select the top railing, click “Edit Type”, and open the Type Properties dialog box. Add a material named “Railing” here as well.
