Ai Guang Academy is a comprehensive preparatory school for junior high and high school students, founded by the Dominican Catholic Church. The school’s guiding philosophy, “We Believe,” encourages every student to become an “internationally educated individual” and a “messenger of love and light.” Over the years, the academy has produced numerous graduates who have thrived in diverse careers worldwide.
Inspired by the school’s spirit, our goal was to design a campus that fosters pride and unity. We envisioned “a charming campus that enhances school spirit,” with buildings that harmonize with natural light and educational spaces enveloped by lush greenery.

Surrounded on all sides by mountains and abundant greenery, the site chosen for the new school building is the closest to the natural landscape. The design follows a circular, flat layout to maximize the view of greenery from as many classrooms as possible. At the center lies a courtyard filled with plants, creating a learning environment bathed in natural light and enveloped by nature both inside and out.
This vibrant setting has allowed us to create a school building that truly attracts students and faculty alike.

The campus is organized into distinct buildings tailored to their specific functions. This school village includes several independent structures: the middle and high school classrooms arranged in a circular formation, a conical-shaped administrative building that serves as the main entrance, and a glass-walled teacher’s office situated centrally with panoramic views of the entire campus.
