On the morning of December 27th, the 17th ARTS 2022 International Advanced Rail Transit Technology Exhibition and International Underground Engineering and Tunnel Technology Exhibition (hereafter “ARTS Rail Transit Exhibition”) officially opened at the Nanjing International Expo Center. This event was initiated by the Urban Transportation Network and co-hosted by Shengge Exhibition (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. along with other organizations.

The opening ceremony began promptly at 10 a.m., with Gu Daming, Secretary General of the Urban Public Transport Branch of the Chinese Society of Civil Engineering, presiding over the event.
Distinguished guests included Wang Hua, Secretary General of the Jiangsu Society of Civil Engineering and Architecture; Yu Qiang, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Executive Vice President of the Railway Branch of Jiangsu Comprehensive Transportation Society; Liu Ya, Deputy Director of the Data Center and Director of the Information Center of Hohhot Urban Transportation Investment and Construction Group Co., Ltd.; Xu Jiqing, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Line Planning Branch of China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd.; and Fan Dongtao, Vice President of Huashe Design Group Co., Ltd.

The exhibition’s theme, “Smart Rail Transit, Diligent and Far-sighted,” showcases cutting-edge trains, advanced equipment, and innovative technology. Spanning over 20,000 square meters, it features more than 100 participating companies. Exhibits cover a broad spectrum including vehicles and components, train interiors, rail security technologies, power supply and new energy solutions, vehicle application materials, smart rail transit communication signals, tunnels and underground engineering, as well as engineering maintenance.
Leading enterprises such as China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation, China Railway Group, Harbin Railway Equipment, Zhengzhou Zhongyuan Silande, and Shandong Yuma Sunshade have presented a range of new products, technologies, and achievements in the rail transit sector.

The event attracted extensive media coverage, with on-site interviews and reports conducted by outlets such as Xinhua News Agency, Nanjing Television, and Urban Transportation Network.
As a new era of scientific and technological revolution unfolds, disruptive emerging industries—including the Internet, Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, robotics, new energy, and advanced materials—are rapidly integrating with rail transit.
Future rail transit systems will focus on intelligence, high speed, environmental sustainability, large capacity, heavy load handling, safety, comfort, and connectivity. The next generation of rail transit is already progressing toward this transformative stage.

China’s rapid urbanization has led to the formation of urban clusters and metropolitan areas centered around mega cities. For commuters traveling longer distances with increased frequency, suburban railways have become a vital focus in the development of urban agglomerations and metropolitan rail transit systems.
During the three-day exhibition, several supporting events, including the 2022 China Rail Transit Development Summit Forum, will take place. Industry experts will share insights and debate key issues, while leading companies will present comprehensive, one-stop solutions.

As a leading international event in the rail transit industry, the ARTS Rail Transit Exhibition not only showcases the latest products, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative solutions from global railway and urban rail transit companies, but also serves as a premier platform for technology cooperation, trade, and information exchange.
This three-day event is expected to attract over 20,000 professional buyers who will attend to explore, evaluate, and purchase the newest rail transit equipment and technologies.
