Miwo Hotel is perched atop a mountain in Suichang County, Lishui City, surrounded by lush tea plantations and reservoirs. Named after the area’s famous hot springs, it has become a sought-after vacation spot. The hotel, called “Mi Wo,” aims to offer guests the warmth of home, inviting visitors from afar to share in the stunning natural scenery.
Embracing its unique mountain and forest setting, the designer clad the building in white paint, evoking the image of a beige bird’s nest nestled within the trees. This design symbolizes the interplay of light and shadow in the forest, creating a striking presence amidst the landscape. From a distance, the hotel appears faintly through the trees, secluded from urban noise like a hidden white nest.

At the front of the hotel, a circular outdoor courtyard embraces both nature and guests, establishing the first ceremonial space within the design. Water flows from an internal system toward the entrance, symbolizing the continuous flow of life and time throughout the area.
Beyond the entrance, an open courtyard unfolds, framed by rising walls that guide movement and create a second ceremonial experience. Layered staircases mimic the upward growth of trees, offering visitors a harmonious blend of light, shadow, and order.

The building’s structure features minimalist yet bold lines, presenting a pristine and radiant form in harmony with nature. Against the backdrop of a clear blue sky, the design invites a sensory experience of pure enjoyment. Each façade reveals a different facet of beauty, reflecting the diverse lifestyles embraced within.

White here is more than just a color—it evokes a profound feeling. The infinity pool merges seamlessly with the blue sky, creating a breathtaking scene where water and sky blend into one, resembling a spiritual lake suspended in space.
The pool acts as a bridge between indoors and outdoors, allowing sunlight to filter through interconnected blocks into the underground spaces below. This interplay of light and water introduces dynamic colors and a sense of life to the subterranean areas.

Inside, the design introduces a third level of ceremony. Marble walls elegantly separate the reception area from the lounge, granting each space its own sense of independence.
The circular lounge is surrounded by columns that extend to the ceiling, and a curved structure above evokes the feeling of being inside a forest canopy. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls offer uninterrupted views of the lush outdoor scenery, blurring the line between inside and out.
A unique feature is a spiral slide leading down to an underground activity space, adding an element of playful interaction and fun for guests.

Miwo features seven guest rooms in total. On the third floor, three independent rooms offer a homelike atmosphere perfect for families. Each guest room includes a cave-like soaking pool, allowing guests to enjoy distant views of tea gardens while immersing themselves in the tranquility of the mountains and forests.
The rooms feature 90-degree floor-to-ceiling windows, providing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Guests can relax in cradle-shaped bathtubs while taking in the natural landscape. Thoughtful window orientation also ensures optimal views of both sunrise and sunset, enhancing the overall experience.

Everywhere you look, the scenery connects indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding mountains. The minimalist design promotes a natural, healing lifestyle where beauty is found in every detail.
The pure white environment encourages relaxation, with only the sky and greenery filling the view, inviting guests to experience the poetry of life in nature.
