Noa * (Network of Architecture) designed this cantilevered ‘Wooden Cabin Hub’ health center as part of the Hubertus Hotel expansion in South Tyrol. The project, named “Heaven and Hell,” is recognized for its mirrored design, featuring a platform that extends to the edge of a cliff, with a series of small wooden houses positioned upside down.

This gravity-defying extension adds vibrant color to the Italian hotel originally built by Noa * in 2016. The cantilevered platform’s swimming pool seems to seamlessly blend into the expansive natural landscape.

The ‘Wooden Center’ health facility, designed by Noa *, is a cluster of small mountain dwellings that appear to float above the Dolomite scenic area. Walking through the center evokes the charm of a traditional Italian mountain village.

The “Heaven and Hell” shelter offers Hubertus Hotel guests a dual spa experience that aligns perfectly with its name. The upper level features a whirlpool pool where guests can lounge or sit while enjoying expansive views and abundant sunlight for full relaxation. Below, a staircase leads to the ‘hell’ level, which includes two saunas, a whirlpool, and an ice room.

The complex structure of the “Wooden House Center” by Noa * is emphasized by the addition of a swimming pool, which reinforces the connection between the building and water. The inverted cabins reflect on the mirrored lake below, while the suspended pool on the central platform creates a new horizon within the design. This innovative combination symbolically extends the Hubertus Hotel and showcases impressive structural engineering.

Noa * pushed structural design to the limits with large columns extending outward to support the steel platform. The asymmetrical cabins on each side highlight the engineering challenges involved.
