The high school library at Panyaden International School offers a tranquil and welcoming environment designed specifically for young students. It features comfortable reading areas that go beyond traditional tables, including lounge spaces furnished with bean bags and pillows, creating a relaxed atmosphere for learning.

The library’s design follows a circular layout. At its center lies a sunken space, illuminated by a skylight above that allows natural light to pour in. Surrounding this central area, concentric circles serve distinct purposes: the innermost ring functions as built-in small work desks, while the next ring features a bamboo arch housing the main bookshelf section. These bookshelves radiate outward, creating diverse learning spaces around the center. The sunken area, with its cathedral-like ambiance, is ideal for group discussions and reading sessions.

The library also includes two soundproof study rooms designed for group discussions and a small office for staff. Its walls are constructed from adobe bricks, while the roof is crafted from bamboo. The bamboo roof consists of two layers: the upper layer features a mutually supportive structure, where each bamboo element supports the next, eliminating the need for additional columns. At the roof’s apex sits a dome-shaped skylight, flooding the entire library with natural sunlight.

The library is equipped with a modern central cooling system that gently circulates cool air without causing discomfort from direct airflow. Additionally, it features a fresh air system that, during the hottest seasons, creates positive pressure by pushing filtered air from outside into the library. This prevents polluted air from entering when doors are opened and ensures a supply of clean air. This system is effective year-round, continuously providing fresh oxygen to maintain an optimal indoor climate for learning.
