When working on a project where the same design institute or construction team follows consistent standards, there’s no need to recreate those standards from scratch each time. So, how can we quickly apply existing project standards? Currently, I use two common methods:
1. Project Templates
Project templates are widely used in the industry today. They provide a structured framework that outlines project requirements, enabling designers to work efficiently within this system. The process begins by creating a project template.
Here are some important points to consider when using project templates:
- The template should include commonly used elements in the project or, at the very least, the most essential components.
- Maintaining a consistent level of standardization is key, such as applying uniform naming conventions for families.
- Always start your projects by opening the designated project template.
2. Transferring Project Standards
Transferring project standards is a quick and convenient method, although it may not provide the same level of consistency as project templates. The process is straightforward:
- Open the project from which you want to transfer standards.
- This could be, for example, a construction project.
- Open your current project simultaneously.
- Transfer the project standards by selecting and importing the specific elements you need.
This approach allows you to quickly incorporate the required types or elements and use them directly in your project.
I hope these methods are helpful to everyone!
