The National Aviation Museum of Korea, located within the soon-to-be-established Gimpo Airport, serves as a multicultural space promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Its mission is to elevate the profile of Korea’s aviation industry.
The museum is designed to be a center for education, exhibitions, and immersive experiences representing the aviation sector. Its design concept embraces three key themes: science, freedom, beauty, and adventure.

The museum features three distinct zones:
- Air Turbine: Inspired by aircraft turbines, this section merges mechanical aesthetics with scientific technology, symbolizing a landmark in aviation history.
- Air Show: This aviation exhibition hall showcases the history of Korean Air in a panoramic format, offering visitors a sense of freedom and dynamic flight.
- Air Walk: A three-dimensional exhibition corridor that traverses aircraft at varying heights, providing an engaging experience beneath the building’s dazzling light structures.

The construction site follows a multi-faceted circular layout, including a southern ring road, a supporting building complex, and the main entrance road known as “Haneul gil,” with facades facing all directions. Positioned centrally between the airport and the supporting complex, the museum includes a three-story open space dedicated to permanent exhibitions, allowing for outdoor displays through transparent facades.

The architectural complex comprises two distinct buildings: a circular exhibition hall designed specifically for showcasing aircraft in flight, and a rectangular management building optimized for functions such as storage, operations, and facilities. This design complements the surrounding environment.
The environmentally conscious, wing-shaped aviation turbine building features a spiral exhibition space inside, starting from the aviation corridor and guiding visitors through aircraft suspended from the ceiling within a dynamic interior.
