The design team focused on creating a public space for Huashan that meets the physical and emotional needs of the local community. From the outset, the goal was to craft a space that connects nature, art, and high quality living. The design intentionally blurs the boundaries between architecture and landscape, allowing the building to harmonize with natural growth while seamlessly integrating art into everyday life, making art accessible to all.

The museum’s form is inspired by nature, particularly the shape of natural stones. The color palette, dominated by white and gray, creates a pure and cohesive visual experience. The city-facing facade is clean and orderly, establishing a subtle yet distinctive new landmark. Meanwhile, the interior-facing side integrates with the geometric design of the park landscape, fostering an interactive space that encourages connection between people and nature.

Within the sculptural exterior lies a warm and serene interior. Geometric elements and natural light guide visitors through the space, adding depth and creating a lasting impression. The museum’s interior is predominantly pure white, transforming it into an inclusive “container of art” that welcomes diverse forms of artistic expression.

In Chinese painting, blank space is a powerful artistic tool, while in Western logic, geometry is the foundation of objectivity. This project combines squares, triangles, and trapezoids to build a complex, multi-dimensional texture. The same platinum granite is treated with three distinct finishes—litchi, matte, and burnt—paired with ultra-white tempered laminated glass. This sophisticated yet simple design enhances the overall quality through careful attention to detail.

The interior features abundant natural materials such as wood, cotton, linen, and plain concrete, harmonizing with the outdoor environment to create a warm, natural atmosphere that fosters vitality. The entrance design skillfully introduces light, shadow, gentle breeze, and greenery, blurring the lines between inside and outside. By harnessing light within this white stone art museum, the building becomes a place of emotional resonance.
