BIM Techniques: How to Trim Text in the Revit User Interface

Some text elements in the user interface, such as ribbon panel labels and dialog box tabs, may appear cropped or truncated.

Issue

This problem typically occurs under the following conditions:

  • The display settings on your monitor have been adjusted to use larger text (DPI scaling).
  • Windows personalization settings have been changed to use an unnamed or custom theme.

When these conditions are met, certain UI text may not display properly.

Solution

To resolve this issue, switch your Windows personalization settings back to a standard, named theme, such as Windows 10.

Applying a standard theme should correct the text display problems within the user interface.
