Abstract The Shimao Gongsan project is a large commercial complex encompassing hotels, offices, shopping malls, and restaurants, covering an area of 210,000 square meters. During the construction drawing phase, software such as Revit Architecture, Revit MEP, and NavisWorks were utilized to complete the design process.

The entire process of scheme construction drawing and coordination was completed using Revit Architecture software. The underground equipment layer pipelines were recreated in 3D using Revit MEP. NavisWorks software was then employed to detect pipeline collisions. The software identified 800 potential clashes, of which over 40 were confirmed as actual conflicts.

By leveraging virtual construction techniques, the project successfully avoided a significant amount of unnecessary on-site dismantling and adjustments, improving overall efficiency.
