The Optimal Holdings Office Complex is situated within the Fourth Ring Green Park in Beijing’s Chaoyang District. It comprises two distinct buildings: the Sihe Courtyard Office Building and the Golf Club. Together, they cover an outdoor space of 3,200 square meters and an indoor area of 4,300 square meters. To accommodate the office and business needs of a younger generation of owners, the complex was renovated and upgraded with a focus on the traditional four-courtyard garden, aiming to create a humanistic office environment inspired by classic Chinese courtyard design.

Sihe Courtyard Garden Renovation
This renovation aligns with the owner’s business philosophy, rooted in Eastern thought and embracing the traditional concept that “water is as good as water.” This idea expresses that water benefits all things without competition and nourishes without conflict. Water naturally collects in low-lying areas where people seldom go, symbolizing the highest wisdom of service and management. The courtyard design incorporates traditional, water-like curved architecture to soften the rigid, square layout.

Winding paths weave through the courtyard, connecting various leisure areas and revealing new views step by step. These paths are lined with seasonal fruit trees and plants, inviting employees to immerse themselves in a tranquil natural setting that satisfies both recreational and exercise needs. Inspired by traditional Chinese garden layouts, the design emphasizes the courtyard pavilion, blending it seamlessly with the building’s green-covered slopes to soften the impact on surrounding office spaces. Concealed within the courtyard like a hill, this space serves as a communal area for meetings, gatherings, and relaxation. Its adjustable facade allows for intimate experiences — “closing the stove to watch the snow in winter and sitting idle to cool off in summer.”

Office Building Space Renovation
The courtyard building is a two-story structure inspired by Chinese antiques, with some single-story sections. The interior office spaces are designed with a clean, modern aesthetic to meet contemporary functional and visual demands. Floor-to-ceiling glass enhances transparency, transforming what would traditionally be a dark, enclosed space. A circular skylight was installed underground to bring natural light into the exhibition hall, increasing the overall sense of openness.

Comprehensive Renovation of the Golf Club
The golf club underwent extensive upgrades, including the addition of storage space, a kitchen, a cigar room, a reception area, and enhanced lighting to improve the original space. The VIP practice room on the second floor features an oversized, three-story LOW-E ultra-white panoramic French window, allowing users to enjoy unobstructed views of the outdoor course from inside.

Creating a Human-Centered Office Complex
The Optimal Holdings Office Complex centers on the leisure and functional spaces of the Sihe Courtyard and the Club. The upgrades focus on enhancing office spaces while integrating humanistic leisure features that balance economic benefits with employee well-being. The design promotes a healthy work environment, helping employees manage stress and emotions, thereby improving productivity and work value. Additionally, the complex supports exhibition hall displays and club leisure activities, providing valuable facilities that encourage business cooperation and enterprise market development.
