The new global headquarters of Infinitus (China), known as Infinitus Plaza, has recently been completed. This project is designed to cultivate a work environment that promotes efficient communication, creativity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. The headquarters also houses the group’s herbal research facilities, a safety assessment laboratory, and a learning center for conferences and exhibitions.

Infinitus Plaza encompasses a total construction area of 185,643 square meters and serves as the new gateway to Guangzhou’s Baiyun Central Business District. The site is situated on the former Baiyun Airport grounds. This district connects Guangzhou’s city center with Feixiang Park and a newly developed community around the old airport. Located adjacent to Feixiang Park Station on Guangzhou Metro Line 2, the headquarters spans the underground subway tunnel and consists of two interconnected buildings across multiple floors.

The design focuses on creating a healthier, more adaptive office environment that supports modern working styles. Infinitus Plaza features eight floors arranged in a series of infinite loops, fostering enhanced interaction and communication among all departments within the headquarters.

The building is centered around an atrium and inner courtyard, with its spatial design inspired by the infinity symbol (“∞”). This creates diverse indoor and outdoor public spaces that cultivate a strong sense of community and embody Infinitus Corporation’s corporate culture of “thinking for profit and people.”

The pedestrian bridge connecting the two buildings offers a variety of flexible communication spaces for employees, fitness and exercise rooms to boost physical health, as well as relaxation zones, restaurants, and cafes for leisure. Some overpasses will link the offices to a future open shopping and dining area.

Located in Guangzhou’s humid subtropical monsoon climate, Infinitus Plaza aims to achieve LEED Gold certification, comparable to China’s three-star green building rating. The project’s lifecycle carbon emissions are calculated with 15.3% embodied carbon and 84.7% operational carbon emissions.

The project also optimized the building structure to minimize concrete use, increasing the proportion of recyclable materials. A total of 25,088.33 tons of recycled materials were used during construction, including steel, copper, glass, aluminum alloy profiles, gypsum products, and wood.

The outdoor terraces were designed based on annual solar radiation analysis to achieve self-shading. Perforated aluminum sunshades on the facade reduce solar heat gain, complemented by double-layer insulated low-emissivity glass that provides effective shading and insulation. These measures ensure ample natural light while lowering energy consumption.

Leveraging the building’s intelligent management system and photovoltaic power supply, a sprinkler network sprays atomized rainwater onto the ETFE membrane roof above the atrium, providing evaporative cooling. Each semi-transparent, double-layer ETFE roof contains a 60-centimeter compressed air chamber.

When solar radiation heats the ETFE membrane surface to 35°C, the sprinkler system activates, running for 3 to 4 minutes every half hour. This reduces the membrane surface temperature by 14°C and lowers indoor temperatures by 5°C, decreasing the building’s solar thermal energy demand.

The rainwater collection, filtration, and reuse system supports micro-irrigation for the surrounding landscape. Gardens located on the third, seventh, and eighth floors are planted with native species and equipped with natural irrigation. These terraces connect to slow jogging tracks and pedestrian walkways on the rooftop. Green roof coverage accounts for 49.36% of the total roof area.

The building’s intelligent management system monitors temperature, carbon dioxide, PM2.5, and other pollutants. Its fresh air ventilation system ensures indoor air quality while detecting real-time occupancy to automatically adjust conditions for optimal comfort and minimal energy use. The system also learns daily usage patterns to enhance operational efficiency.

Aligned with the strategic goal of establishing Guangzhou Baiyun Central Business District as a national health and wellness industry hub, Infinitus China’s new headquarters integrates various departments through innovative design, advanced construction technologies, and sustainable strategies, strengthening communication and collaboration across the company.
