MTL is a four-story office building designed with a focus on building systems. The owner wanted the 3,000 square meter space to reflect his business acumen, while also creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere for visitors.

The site was originally an open space filled with trees. After a thorough on-site inspection, the architect developed a design concept aimed at preserving the public’s perception of the site as consistent with its pre-construction state.

Flawless integration with nature plays a key role in the design. The building intentionally allows other organisms—such as birds and weeds—to inhabit and thrive within its structure.

The boundaries between circulation areas and functional zones are deliberately blurred. Instead of clear divisions, the spaces have flexible, scattered boundaries that can be adjusted freely according to their specific functions.

The facade features 50,000 bricks arranged to create a self-organizing surface. This approach allows natural elements to shape the appearance over time, making the facade an evolving architectural feature.
