As the flagship event of the Asian construction industry, BIC has been deeply engaged in the sector for decades, successfully hosting nine previous editions. In 2021, BIC will again be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from March 24-26 under the theme: “Industrialization Drives Industrial Integration, and Intelligence Leads Construction Transformation“.
BIC 2021 follows the core principle of “market-led, government-guided” development, aligning with the high-quality integration goals of the Yangtze River Delta region. It pioneers the introduction of advanced international prefabricated building technologies, emphasizing construction quality, structural integrity, and component excellence.
The exhibition covers the entire construction industry chain, including research, design, production and processing, assembly, and operation. It focuses on three core areas: prefabricated building structural systems, construction equipment and technology, and intelligent construction technology. BIC is recognized internationally as an essential platform for companies to present new technologies, materials, processes, and equipment, facilitating international exchange, negotiation, and procurement.

Policy Orientation
In December 2019, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council released the “Outline of the Development Plan for Regional Integration in the Yangtze River Delta.” This directive promotes breaking down quality management barriers within the region’s construction projects to establish a unified quality management system. BIC 2021 aligns closely with this policy, focusing on construction quality, structural reliability, and prefabricated component standards, aiming to build an integrated, high-quality development platform for the Yangtze River Delta construction market.
Technology-Driven
BIC 2021 integrates advanced intelligent technologies, emphasizing systematic integrated design and lean production throughout the entire engineering lifecycle. It unites the industry, value, and innovation chains to establish a construction industrialization platform characterized by high efficiency, superior quality, reduced consumption, and low emissions.
Industry Collaboration
In September 2020, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the “Several Opinions on Accelerating the Development of New Building Industrialization,” highlighting the necessity for systematic integrated and standardized design. BIC 2021 aims to create an industry collaboration platform encompassing architectural design, consulting, component production and transportation, construction and installation, as well as operation and maintenance management. This platform promotes resource sharing, system integration, and coordinated development throughout the industrial chain.
Resource Integration
For the first time, BIC 2021 is dedicated to establishing the “Build ASIA Mega Show Asia Construction and Decoration Exhibition,” an integrated cross-border platform for the Asia-Pacific construction and decoration industries. This large-scale platform will bring together all categories — from construction and hard decoration to soft and smart decoration — covering the full spectrum from building materials to overall decoration. It integrates trade, engineering, design, and application to foster cross-border industry chain linkages, resource sharing, win-win cooperation, and revitalization of the building materials sector.

Jindi New Youjia will unveil its first brand-new prefabricated Loft space model room, offering a visually appealing, efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution for prefabricated housing. Jinmao Decoration will debut a model room for high-end residential buildings, applying industrialized interior systems tailored for luxury residences.
