The “Youjian Wine Hall,” located adjacent to the shops in Shanghai’s Xujiahui Riyueguang Shopping Plaza, serves as a spatial aesthetics laboratory designed by DCDSAA architectural firm. Inspired by the modern Shanghai cultural style, it features a creative interplay of luster, sparkling minimalist elements, and a ceremonial ambiance that offers a unique visual experience. This soy sauce laboratory aims to captivate visitors with its distinctive charm.

Chief architect Wang Hao emphasizes that the laboratory’s design should embrace natural beauty. The space is generously open to allow ample natural light inside, creating a serene atmosphere that balances elegance with a unique artistic character through carefully crafted lines.

The “Aesthetics Laboratory” by DCDSAA Yodogawa Architecture Firm vividly expresses the modern spirit of soy sauce culture. The interior walls are painted primarily in white and blue tones, complemented by louvered columns that support the minimalist aesthetic with their hyperbolic dome shapes. Wang Hao explains, “Space is the emotional expression of the designer’s soul. Through modern lighting and material choices, I aim to convey the spirit of design.”

In every design, Wang Hao focuses on expressing spatial emotions with poetic sensitivity. Like a poet of space, he crafts scenes that evoke a tranquil, pure, natural, and comfortable atmosphere.

The material palette integrates elements of water, wood, and brick throughout the space. Modern, simple stone materials paired with open areas create a seamless connection between interior and exterior views. The extensive use of brick surfaces contrasted with blue hues stands out as a design highlight. A water feature integrated with the stage amplifies the sensory experience, generating an interplay of reality and illusion. This approach breaks traditional expectations of soy sauce and liquor brand spaces, positioning the design at the forefront of contemporary mainstream branding.

The tasting area features Nordic solid wood wicker chairs and small decorative items paired with modern minimalist furniture. This blend creates a stylish, harmonious space. A large wooden partition design allows guests to appreciate the expansive visual scenery as a whole. Whether tasting wine or enjoying tea, sitting in these wicker chairs offers a deeply comfortable experience.

In summary, the “Aesthetics Laboratory” for this soy sauce brand embodies the spiritual essence of space in physical form. Though the design is simple, it leaves a profound impact by focusing on modern culture and creating a memorable experience. The seamless integration of architectural interior forms encourages a return to natural spirituality and embraces a more comfortable lifestyle.

This dreamy minimalist space avoids ornamental complexity, opening up to the boundless sky and inspiring a sense that anything is possible.
