This project’s design concept draws direct inspiration from the natural environment and the mountainous landscape that surrounds the site, along with the emotions these elements evoke. Situated in the mountainous region of Xindian, New Taipei City, the site faces an uninterrupted mountain view.
Immersed in this environment, the design reimagines vertical relationships and connections within the living space. It explores ways to integrate nature indoors, interact with the surrounding life, and capture the natural changes visible through the windows to enrich the living experience.

The three-story residential building is situated on a hillside community, where there is a height difference between the front and rear of the site. The building’s entrance is located on the second floor, centrally positioned and extending inward.

The flow of interaction between inhabitants and the space moves horizontally from the street level to the area near the mountain view at the back. Here, this movement turns and extends vertically, connecting the upper and lower floors.

The middle level serves as a fully open social area, offering residents maximum flexibility in its use. The living space seamlessly extends to the adjacent fields and connects with the natural scenery outside the window. The space is defined by an elegant, softly curved wall that gracefully flows vertically, linking the living room below and the bedrooms above.

This curved wall echoes the indoor landscape with the mountain scenery outside, acting as both a life flow and a structural element within the building. It redefines vertical relationships inside, serving as the spatial interface and a container for the natural scenery’s dynamic changes.
By capturing the mountain’s graceful undulations and the ever-shifting colors of light and shadow, the design creates an indoor living scene that changes with time.

Time flows around the space, intertwining life, nature, and the passing moments. The free movement of people within the space allows for flexible usage of living environments, offering users a home that can be continuously redefined and adapted.
