The Houston Museum of Art, designed by Steven Hall Architects, is dedicated to modern and contemporary art collections. The building spans three floors and covers approximately 22,038 square meters. The upper two floors, along with the entrance and two underground pedestrian tunnels, offer about 9,510 square meters of exhibition space.

The project’s functional area totals around 17,050 square meters, with 56% dedicated to artwork display. The museum also includes a 215-seat theater. The underground parking area occupies 4,987 square meters.

Notable features of the museum include a restaurant and café overlooking the Lily and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden, designed by Isamu Noguchi. Two pedestrian tunnels connect the existing Jinde Building galleries with the museum and the Grassell Art Institute.
