BIM Q&A | What Are the Levels of BIM?
BIM is categorized into three levels: Level 1 BIM Modeler, Level 2 Senior BIM Modeler, and Level 3 BIM Application Designer.
1. Level 1 BIM Modeler: This represents the basic level of BIM application, regardless of discipline. Individuals at this level must be proficient in operating BIM software and understand fundamental BIM modeling techniques.
2. Level 2 Senior BIM Modeler: Senior modelers specialize in one of three areas based on the design focus: architecture, structure, or equipment. They are responsible for creating professional BIM models that meet the specific design requirements within their specialty.
3. Level 3 BIM Application Designer: These designers are divided into architectural, structural, and equipment design majors, as well as construction and cost management fields. They are capable of applying BIM technology comprehensively across their area of expertise.
Assessment Candidates
Eligible candidates include college students and university faculty majoring in engineering, engineering economics, finance, management, computer science, and related disciplines. Professionals who have graduated in related fields and are engaged in BIM-related work within engineering project design, construction technology, or management are also qualified.
