Wondering if you can get a BIM certificate without taking an exam? The truth is, you do need to pass an exam to obtain most BIM certifications. There are various types of BIM certificates available, but their credibility and recognition vary widely.
The most recognized BIM certifications include the National BIM Skill Level Examination organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Graphic Society; the National BIM Professional Skills Series Job Examination and BIM Engineer Examination administered by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; as well as the BIM Modeling Time (Level 1), Professional BIM Application Engineer (Level 2), and Comprehensive BIM Application Engineer (Level 3) offered by the China Construction Association.
Among these, the National BIM Skill Level Examination from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security is considered the most valuable. Many companies require designers to pass the BIM Level 1 exam, and some even offer salary increases for those who pass Level 1 or Level 2 exams.
