BIM Q&A | How to Set the Benchmark Elevation for the Top of an Air Duct in BIM
In practical projects, air ducts are often arranged with either top or bottom alignment. This approach helps the ducts fit closely beneath beams and simplifies ceiling height design. By default, Revit connects air ducts using center alignment, so adjusting the alignment is necessary.
Here are several solutions:
Option 1: Use the Align command to adjust the alignment of existing ducts.
Option 2: Before drawing the air duct, set the alignment settings to top or bottom alignment, then draw the duct accordingly.
Option 3: Use a duct fitting family file designed with top-to-bottom alignment to create the ducts.
