BIM Q&A | Can BIM Certificates Be Included in the Talent Pool?
Can BIM certificates be included in the talent pool? Generally, the answer is no. A BIM certificate serves as a basic credential rather than a mandatory requirement for joining a talent pool. Each talent pool has its own specific standards, and only individuals who meet these criteria are considered eligible.
The National BIM Skill Level Examination is an evaluation initiated by the Chinese Society of Graphic Design and jointly conducted by the Education and Training Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the United Nations. Since its inception in 2012, this evaluation has been successfully held thirteen times, attracting a total of 150,000 participants.
To establish a scientific and standardized framework for BIM skill training, the Chinese Society of Cartography has collaborated with domestic experts to develop the BIM Skill Level Evaluation Outline (referred to as the “Outline”). This Outline categorizes BIM skills into three levels:
- Level 1: BIM Modeler
- Level 2: Senior BIM Modeler
- Level 3: BIM Application Designer
At Level 3, three specialized tracks are offered: Architectural Design, Architectural Equipment Design, and Architectural Construction Design.
