BIM Q&A: How to Fix Revit View Rotation Not Working with Shift + Middle Mouse Button

BIM Q&A | Revit View Rotation Issue: Unable to Rotate Using Shift + Middle Mouse Button

If you previously used Shift + Middle Mouse Button to rotate your view but it suddenly stopped working, try the following steps:

First, see if you can use Shift + Right-Click to change the mouse navigation mode. If that doesn’t work, try dragging the ViewCube directly. The ViewCube is the square located in the upper-right corner of the 3D view.

If neither method works, check whether the 3D view is locked in your View Control Bar—the panel below the drawing area where you adjust model refinement and display settings. If the view is not locked and the problem persists, consider reinstalling Revit to resolve any software issues.
