BIM Q&A | How to Edit Polygons in Rhino Like the Editplot Command in 3ds Max

Rhino does not natively support direct polygon editing unless you install a plugin, as it is primarily a NURBS modeling tool rather than a polygon-based modeler.

However, for NURBS curves, there is a workaround: you can open the surface’s control vertices (CVs) and reshape the surface by adjusting these CVs. Keep in mind, though, this is not the conventional method for NURBS surface modeling.

The proper approach involves analyzing the surface’s structure, extracting key curves, and controlling the surface through these curves. In NURBS modeling, most of your time is spent constructing and refining the surface. Once a surface is generated via curves, further adjustments are usually minimal.

As the saying goes, “Good curves make good surfaces.”
