BIM Q&A | How to Print PDFs in Archicad
Printing files from office software is usually straightforward, but since they often don’t support PDF files natively, you’ll need specialized software to open and print PDFs. Today, I’ll explain how to print PDF files efficiently.
Tools and Materials:
PDF file
Adobe Reader (or another PDF viewer)
Method:
First, open your PDF file using appropriate software. Some lightweight or unstable PDF readers may lack printing capabilities, so it’s best to use official PDF software like Adobe Reader.
Launch the PDF reader and click the “Open” button to locate and open the PDF file you want to print. Navigate to the file in your file manager, select it, and click “Open” to load it into the software.
Once the PDF document appears in the reader, you can usually find a print button on the toolbar. If you don’t see a print icon, click on the File menu in the upper-left corner; the print option is typically located there.
After selecting “Print,” the print dialog will appear. Here, you can choose your printer, specify the number of copies, and adjust other printing preferences. When you’ve set everything, click the “Print” button to start printing.
At this point, the PDF will start printing. You can also save the PDF file and print it later if needed.
After initiating printing, the software will display a progress indicator. This is because PDFs often contain many pages, which are loaded and sent to the printer one by one.
