BIM Q&A | Do I Need to Upgrade When Opening Revit Files in the Latest Version?
Yes, you do!
This can be quite frustrating. Older versions of Revit cannot open files created in newer versions, and unfortunately, you only find out after the program starts that the file won’t open.
On the other hand, when you open a file created in an older version of Revit using a newer version, the file will automatically be upgraded—whether you want it to or not.
I used to find this very annoying, but then I discovered a solution. I started using a Revit plugin called “Modeling Master”, which helps me avoid these upgrade issues. It’s been a game-changer!
