BIM Q&A | How to Lightweight Revit Models
Revit families are parameterized, meaning that once created, the finished model cannot be scaled directly. Instead, any size changes must be made by adjusting the parameters. The image below, taken from Revit’s help documentation, explains the scaling function, which only applies to 2D projects like line wall drawings. If you need to scale a 3D model, you’ll have to start over early in the process, as there’s no way to scale it afterward.
