BIM Q&A | Revit 2016: First Floor Staircase Not Visible in Plan View but Visible in 3D View
In Revit 2016, you might encounter an issue where the first floor staircase is not visible in the plan view, yet it appears correctly in the 3D view. What causes this discrepancy?
Here are two common scenarios and their solutions:
Scenario 1: Adjusting the View Range Settings
For example, if the first floor elevation is set at 4000mm, you should configure the view range accordingly:
– Set the Top Offset to 4000mm or slightly higher.
– Set the Bottom Offset to 0.
– Set the Cut Plane between 0 and 4000mm.
Additionally, ensure that the View Depth extends below the bottom offset, for example, to -1000mm. These settings help the stairs appear properly in the plan view.
Scenario 2: Using the HR Shortcut Key
Pressing the HR shortcut key in Revit will display all graphic elements in the view. This can help reveal hidden components, such as the staircase, that might not be visible due to view filters or settings.
