BIM Q&A | Revit 2014: How to Export Two-Point Perspective
To export a door schedule in Revit, first generate the schedule and switch to the schedule view. Note that exporting as a TXT file is only available in the schedule view; this option is not accessible from other views.
Next, click the menu in the upper left corner of Revit, then navigate to Export > Report > Schedule View. Choose the destination folder for saving the file. After that, the Export Detail Table Settings dialog box will appear.
Here, you can decide whether to include the header in the export. It is generally recommended to avoid changing the default output options. You also have the option to set field separators and text qualifiers. However, altering these settings may cause issues when opening the file in Excel.
For example, if you change the field separator to a space, some software like WPS Office might not correctly recognize the TXT file as a spreadsheet. When opening the exported TXT detail table in Excel, you may receive a prompt—simply confirm it and save the file as an XLS document to obtain a fully functional Excel spreadsheet.
Alternatively, you can use Revit plugins to export schedules directly to Excel format. Most of these plugins are in English and may have a learning curve. One such plugin is WhiteFeet.RevitRibbonPanel, which offers the functionality to export schedules as Excel files.
