BIM Q&A | Can Revit be Installed on a Laptop and How to Optimize Configuration
There are no significant hardware issues; the problem likely lies within the system itself. We recommend reinstalling the operating system and adding a SanDisk Plus solid-state drive for improved performance.
Here is a step-by-step guide to reinstalling your system:
1. Download the necessary software along with the ISO installation package to your hard drive. For example, you can use cn_windows_10_enterprise_version_1607_updated_jul_2016_x64_dvd_9057083.iso.
2. Refer to the attached instructions to download the ISO installation package and create a PE toolbox. Boot your computer from the USB drive by adjusting BIOS settings to prioritize the boot disk. Then, create a virtual ISO installation CD and mount it to the virtual CD drive.
Download the ISO system disk (you can choose between Windows 7 or Windows 10; the process is the same). Make sure to verify if the version is 32-bit or 64-bit. For systems with 4GB of RAM, a 32-bit version is recommended. For systems with more than 4GB of RAM, choose the 64-bit version; otherwise, stick with 32-bit.
3. Use the NT6 installer to perform a quick installation. This tool formats the C drive and automates the installation process. The system files will copy for about 10 minutes, followed by a restart during which the system initializes automatically. After entering the system, locate and run the KMS activation tool to activate your Windows installation.
