BIM Q&A | Fixing Invisible Doors and Windows in Revit Structural Walls During Construction

BIM Q&A | Structural Walls Built in Revit Causing Doors and Windows to Disappear in 3D Views

When constructing walls in Revit, structural walls may be created by default. This can lead to doors and windows becoming invisible in 3D views and renderings. How can you change a structural wall into an architectural (building) wall?

Don’t worry—structural walls and architectural walls can be converted between each other. To fix this, start by adjusting your visibility settings to ensure structural walls are enabled in the Visibility/Graphics overrides.

If the structural walls are visible and the issue persists, select all components using a box selection. Then, apply a filter to isolate all structural walls. Once filtered, go to the Properties palette and uncheck the Structural parameter to convert them into architectural walls.
