BIM Q&A | How to Use Revit Layouts to Create Beam-Like Families

BIM Q&A | How Can Revit Use Layout to Create Families Similar to Beams?

I’m not very experienced with using layout commands in Revit. I would greatly appreciate it if experienced BIM users could provide more detailed guidance. Thank you in advance!

Layout involves drawing a two-dimensional shape, such as a circle, which serves as the profile or outline. Then, you create a path for that shape to follow. The outline moves along the path from start to finish, generating the model based on your layout.

For example, if your outline is a circle and the path is a straight line, the resulting model will be a cylinder.
