I’ll provide an answer based on my experience with Tomato versions from the start.
1. Tomato 3.X is the latest Tomato XP installation system. It combines both the Tomato XP Beautification Edition and the original XP Edition, each equipped with the newest system patches. The Beautification Edition includes only XP themes curated by Tomato, without additional software, while the original version simply integrates system patches. Installation requires either a CD or hard drive, using the standard setup process.
2. The Beautification Edition is another version primarily developed on the Tomato Garden forum. It enhances many system elements such as icons, themes, login screens, and fonts. The interface looks great; however, after using two versions, I occasionally noticed some issues, possibly due to the extensive customizations. Installation is done through the normal method.
3. The Ghost version is a ghost image-based installation created from the Tomato version. It offers easy installation and may include some integrated software, but its use is not generally recommended. Users might encounter problems after installation since hardware environments vary widely.
