BIM Q&A: Exploring Revit Secondary Development and Form Creation

BIM Q&A | Revit Secondary Development and Creating Forms

If you are new to Revit secondary development, you might wonder whether it is possible to open a custom Windows form by clicking on a plugin within Revit. Specifically, can the form be used to interact with Revit elements, such as reading CAD layers? As a beginner, I have created a plugin that reads CAD information and included an add-in file. Now, I want to open a window through the plugin click and then read the CAD data via that window. I am familiar with C# Windows Forms but not yet proficient with Revit forms.

There are many plugins available for various functions. Modeling experts often focus on rapid mold flipping (converting CAD files), quick modeling, and enhancing model details. Meanwhile, Family Library experts provide plugins with commonly used families, all of which help improve overall Revit efficiency.
