BIM Q&A: Displaying Revit Wall Areas in Plan and Elevation Views

BIM Q&A | How is Wall Area Displayed in Revit Plan and Elevation Views?

To display the area of each wall on a floor plan, follow these steps:

First, use the Annotation tool by selecting Tag > Tag by Category. Then, select the wall you want to tag. Initially, the tag will not show any area information.

Next, double-click the wall tag to open the tag editing window. In the properties label window, locate the Area parameter and add it to the tag box. After returning to the project, the tag will now display the wall area.

This method works for both flat (plan) and vertical (elevation) wall surfaces.

If you have any further questions or need clarification, feel free to ask. I hope this helps!
