BIM Q&A | Unable to Install Autodesk Revit?
The initial installation of Autodesk Revit 2014 went smoothly. However, due to the mouse’s high sensitivity, the Revit 2014 folder was accidentally moved into an unrelated directory. This caused the built-in Revit uninstaller to fail to detect the software.
As a result, manual uninstallation was required, including deleting registry entries (following the complete Revit software registry removal method: __AI_S_SC_1__) and using the Revit uninstallation residual cleaning tool. This cleaning tool addresses the issue where the system still prompts “installed” after the software has been uninstalled.
Despite these steps, reinstalling Revit now triggers an error message stating:
“The library could not be installed/uninstalled. Please exit all running applications and try again,”
which leads to installation failure.
Please provide a solution to resolve this issue without needing to reinstall the entire system.
