BIM Q&A | What Are the Advantages and Features of REVIT and SKETCHUP During the Architectural Sketch Design Phase?
After attending two or three BIM courses, I learned that being proficient with REVIT makes the sketch phase much more convenient. One key advantage is its ability to quickly generate floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D views. Compared to in-depth post-processing in SketchUp, REVIT offers greater convenience and efficiency. Is this really the case?
During the sketch, draft, and conceptual design phases, what are the strengths and weaknesses of these two software programs? How easy is it to get started with each? Once the basic plan is established, how convenient is it to further develop the design? Which tool allows for quick idea expression and exploration to inspire creativity?
