BIM Q&A | Planning to Buy a Laptop in Your Junior Year of Architecture? Need to Run CAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Rhino, Lumion, and AI Software?
I rarely use CAD software in my daily routine, but I want to focus on Photoshop, AI, and Lumion for Rhino projects. In my senior year, I plan to expand into interior and landscape design, so I’ll be adding more software then. The exact requirements are still unclear, but I want to improve my rendering capabilities.
I’m looking for a laptop with a screen size of 14 inches or larger, preferably with thin bezels. I would also like a numeric keypad, but the laptop shouldn’t be too heavy. Since I’m a female student who often needs to bring my laptop to class, portability and budget are important factors.
I’m considering the Xiaomi Pro 15.6, but I’m having trouble deciding. If there are any experienced users or experts who can provide advice without too much technical jargon, I would greatly appreciate it.
