The Wuchazi Bridge is situated over the Jinjiang River within the southern park of Chengdu High-tech Zone. This significant pedestrian bridge connects Guixi and Zhonghe Street, covering a total area of 4,180 square meters. Its structural design primarily features a steel box girder and steel box arch, functioning as a municipal bridge facilitating the passage of pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles.
The design draws inspiration from the concept of the “infinite ring”—the Möbius strip—abstracting this infinite form, which naturally exists in four-dimensional space, into a three-dimensional symbol representing infinity in mathematics. This imagery symbolizes the limitless development potential of the high-tech zone where the bridge stands.

△ Overall Plan

Structurally, the bridge is divided into two parts: the main bridge and the auxiliary bridge. The main bridge, located above, stretches 346.89 meters in length and varies in width from 4.65 to 9.88 meters. It connects the greenways on either side of the river, allowing smooth bicycle traffic.
The auxiliary bridge sits below, measuring 208.78 meters in length and ranging from 6 to 14.53 meters wide. Surrounding the auxiliary bridge are theater-style steps offering scenic river views and unique public resting spots.
At night, the bridge’s lighting emphasizes its distinctive shape through simple yet elegant modern floodlighting, highlighting a different landscape along the Jinjiang River.

The bridge features a dual-structure form, with the upstream section serving as the main bridge and the downstream as the auxiliary bridge, connected via pedestrian channels.
The main bridge consists of two segments: the first is a two-span continuous steel box girder bridge measuring 27m + 27m, and the second is a four-span inclined leg rigid frame bridge with spans of 28.5m, 75.347m, 84.152m, and 44.73m, designed to meet navigation and flood discharge requirements.
The auxiliary bridge employs a steel structure with three spans. The first two spans are irregular steel box arch bridges, measuring 59.166m and 84.431m respectively, also adhering to navigation and flood discharge standards. The third span is a diagonal leg rigid frame structure spanning 41.673m.
The total length of the main bridge is 346.891 meters, with widths varying from 4.654 to 9.88 meters. The auxiliary bridge extends 208.781 meters, with widths ranging between 6 and 14.533 meters.
The longest single span is the auxiliary bridge’s second irregular steel box arch, measuring 84.431 meters.
Regarding elevations, the main bridge has a variable height. The lowest point is at pier Z2 with a vertical clearance of 1.0 meter, while the highest beam is at axis Z4-1 (diagonal leg ZX1), reaching approximately 2.4 meters. The main arch ring of the auxiliary bridge stands at 1.5 meters tall, with the third span beams ranging from 1.3 to 1.5 meters in vertical height. The hydrophilic platform beam height is about 2.15 meters.
