How to Scale Components in Revit Entirely Sometimes, the dimensions of components created in Revit may be incorrect. You might wonder if it’s possible to scale them as a whole. While Revit does offer a scaling tool, it only works effectively on two-dimensional elements, such as lines and outlines. This limitation is understandable because Revit is parametric software; the models contain associated parameter data that cannot simply be adjusted through scaling.
When dealing with complex family components that lack parameter controls, scaling becomes more challenging. So, how can you resize such families?
To do this, enter the family editing mode. For stretched models, switch to the plan view to edit the stretched geometry. Select the model, then click the Edit Stretch command to enter stretch line editing mode. Select all the line segments with a selection box, then use the Zoom command to scale the stretch lines either graphically or numerically. Once scaled, click Finish to apply the changes.
