Why Are Material Textures Missing When Importing Lumion Files into SketchUp?

Why Does SketchUp Import to Lumion Not Display Material Textures? What causes material textures to not display when importing SketchUp models into Lumion? How can we adjust the settings to fix this issue?

When exporting from SketchUp, it is crucial to ensure that both the file name and the folder path where the file is saved contain no Chinese characters. Let’s go through the export process step-by-step:

1. In SketchUp, create your model and then click File, select Export, and choose 3D Model.

2. Choose the destination folder and give your model a name. Remember, both the file name and the folder path must be free of Chinese characters.

3. Open Lumion and go to the Objects menu. Select Import New Model to place your model into the scene. (Note: The Lumion version used here is 6.0, so the steps might differ slightly if you are using an older version.)

Ensuring the file name and save path use English characters is essential for Lumion to correctly locate and apply the material texture files. Otherwise, textures will not display properly.
