Error When Connecting Pipes in Revit: “Invalid Duct/Pipe Connection in the Opposite Direction”
Sometimes, while connecting pipelines in Revit, you may encounter an error indicating an invalid connection. This usually happens when the duct or pipe has been adjusted to face the opposite direction, causing the connection to fail. The error message and prompt box appear as shown in the illustration.
Here are some key points to consider:
1. This error typically occurs because the distance between the connection endpoint and the pipeline is too small.
2. As demonstrated in the example, attempting to connect the endpoint directly to the air duct will trigger this error.
3. To resolve this, increase the gap between the endpoint and the air duct, then try connecting them using the interface connectors. Once connected successfully, the result will appear as shown below.
Explanation: The duct or pipe has been modified to face the opposite direction, invalidating the connection. When this prompt appears, first increase the distance between the pipeline and fittings. After successfully connecting, adjust the pipeline position to ensure a proper connection between the pipe and fittings.
