How to Add or Remove Stairs by Elevation in Revit
This guide explains how to add or remove stairs on one or multiple levels within a multi-level staircase.
First, open the elevation view and select the multi-level staircase.
In the Multi-Story Staircase panel, click Connect/Disconnect Level.
Within Mode, choose one of the following tools on the panel: Connect Level or Cancel Level.
Select the elevation(s) of the stairs you want to add or remove. To select multiple levels, either drag a selection box or hold the Ctrl key while clicking each level.
Note that when adding stairs, the cursor will display a plus sign (+), and when removing stairs, it will show a minus sign (–). Changes become visible only after you click Complete.
Important: If you delete stairs connected at the top and bottom of another level, the remaining stairs will automatically adjust to maintain the multi-level staircase. Specifically, the stairs above the deleted section will extend to connect with the stairs below it. However, you cannot delete stairs on the bottom level associated with the reference level of the multi-story staircase.
When finished, click Finish in the Mode panel.
Repeat these steps as needed to add or remove other stair components.
