Located in the heart of Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the Treehouse is a shared living complex featuring 72 residential units. It offers micro studios and micro elevators designed specifically for single professionals and their pets. At the core of the Treehouse is an indoor garden, which houses communal amenities such as a workspace, lounge, shared kitchen, laundry facilities, and a pet shower room.

▲ Sectional perspective view
Above the garden lies a six-story residential area, each floor offering unique unit styles. These include loft-bedroom apartments with open bathtubs, apartments featuring cat litter ladders, and spacious top-floor units ideal for couples. A key architectural feature is the sloping windows that span the entire room width. The blinds, which rise from bottom to top, provide privacy while allowing residents to enjoy views of the sky.

Design details include double-layer sliding doors that create additional storage, personalized magnetic walls at each unit’s entrance, modular storage cabinets, and extra ventilation windows opening toward the atrium in attic units, enhancing airflow. The project’s beauty lies in its spatial composition, reflecting a communal lifestyle. The atrium serves as the spatial core of the residential building, integrating private units into a cohesive whole.

Community and individual existence are inseparable; individuals are defined through their community. Residents can view the central garden from two perspectives: the ground floor entrance and from within their units. Community here is not forced but naturally formed. Each unit is equipped with an independent bathroom and kitchen, designed for individual living. Shared spaces are used only when residents engage with larger communal facilities.
