How to Fix Slow Loading Speeds in Revit Projects

How to Fix Slow Loading Times When Opening Revit Projects

Issue:

Users have reported extremely slow loading times when opening Revit files. In some cases, Revit displays a “Not Responding” message.

Opening a Revit model can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

Current Status:

We are actively investigating the potential causes and working on appropriate solutions.

Additional Information:

The Site Designer add-on for Revit is installed on the affected systems.

Proposed Solution:

As a workaround, please uninstall or disable the Site Designer add-on before launching Revit and opening files.

Follow these steps:

1. Locate the following folder:
C:ProgramDataAutodeskRevitAddins__AI_S_SC_

2. Rename the file Autodesk.SiteElement.addin to Autodesk.SiteElement.addin.bak.

3. Launch Revit again.

4. Open your project file and check if the loading speed improves.
